What's New in DNSLister for August 2026: Quick Lookup, Confidence Grades, and One-Click TLD Groups

Reviewed 2026-08-31

Availability TLD

August was about trust and speed: telling you how sure we are that a domain is free, and getting that answer to you faster. Here are the changes you'll notice most.

Quick Lookup: one domain, three answers

Quick Lookup checks a single name without building a whole search. You get three separate verdicts (DNS, the registry's RDAP record, and WHOIS) instead of one blended guess, so you can see for yourself when they disagree.

  • Check up to 3 domains at once. Most WHOIS sites take one.
  • Every lookup is a link. Copy the address bar and send it to someone, and they see the same check.
  • Save a name to Favorites straight from the result.

"Available" now says how sure we are

An "available" that only one source backs up isn't the same as one that three sources agree on. Results now show a confidence grade next to each available domain, so you know which names are solid and which deserve a second look before you get excited.

If you want to know how the checks actually work, the new Methodology page explains it step by step, with examples you can run yourself.

Check a whole group of endings in one click

Picking 20 endings one at a time got old. You can now pick a ready-made TLD group, such as Primary TLDs or Top 10 TLDs, and check all of them in one go. "Only this group" clears everything else first.

Share a find by text or email

Found a good available name? One tap shares it by text message or email, so you can ask a co-founder or a friend before someone else registers it. You can also share your whole list of finds.

Much faster checks

  • Bulk Domain Check went from 41-90 seconds for 3 domains to near instant.
  • Big results pages that sometimes stalled for 30-100 seconds now load right away.
  • "Recheck errored only" retries just the domains that failed, not the whole search.

Smaller things worth knowing

  • Wildcards everywhere. * means "anything" in every filter box, so *hub finds every name ending in hub.
  • Try the tools before you sign up. Guests can generate a word list from any tool and save it by creating an account.
  • Bring your own words. Create a word list and import a CSV in one step.
  • Copy any list you can see. Fork a word list into your own account and edit your copy.
  • New public pages: TLD Health shows how reliably each ending can be checked, Providers lists public DNS resolvers, and the Glossary explains terms like RDAP, NXDOMAIN and DNSSEC.
  • Privacy. A new Privacy page says it plainly: your searches are private.
