Why do WHOIS lookups need an account?
Quick Lookup gives everyone DNS and registry (RDAP) answers. A live WHOIS record is different: WHOIS runs over a raw port-43 connection that registries rate-limit by IP address, so we can't make those calls anonymously without risking everyone else's lookups.
