Trademark & Piracy Opt-Out

How rights holders can have protected names removed from this site.

What this site does — and does not do

DNS Lister is a research tool that combines dictionary words into suggestions for domain names and reports whether those names appear to be unregistered. We do not register domains, host websites or content, sell domain names, or operate any service at the names shown here.

Because our word lists are built from ordinary dictionary and topic vocabulary, a protected brand name can occasionally appear in a list or in a generated suggestion. When that happens, we remove it on request — permanently.

Trademark opt-out

If you own a registered trademark and want it excluded from this site's word lists, search results, and future name generation, send a request containing:

  1. The exact word(s) or name(s) you want excluded.
  2. The trademark, its registration number, and the registering office (e.g. USPTO, EUIPO), or equivalent proof of your rights.
  3. Your name, organization, and role — and, if you are an agent, a statement that you are authorized to act for the rights holder.
  4. A contact email address for follow-up.
  5. A good-faith statement that the information in the request is accurate.

We do not require legal filings or notarized documents for an opt-out — a verifiable request is enough. Generic dictionary words that merely overlap with a stylized mark (e.g. a common word that is also a brand) are reviewed case by case, since removing everyday vocabulary affects all users.

Piracy and counterfeit-bait names

We do not knowingly list or suggest names whose evident primary purpose is piracy, counterfeiting, or impersonation — for example names built around "cracked", "keygen", or a brand name plus "torrent" or "replica".

If you find such a suggestion on this site, report it using the same process below. Confirmed reports are added to our banned-words list, which removes them from public pages and blocks them from all future generation.

How to submit a request

Email abuse@dnslister.com with the subject line "Trademark opt-out request" or "Piracy name report". Registered users may also use the contact form.

What happens next: we acknowledge requests within 5 business days. Verified requests are actioned within 10 business days: the term is added to our banned-words list, removed from public word lists and search results, and excluded from all future name generation. Opt-outs are permanent unless you ask us to reverse them.

Scope and limits
  • Removal covers this site only. We cannot un-register a domain someone else has registered, and we have no control over other tools or registrars.
  • An entry here is a name suggestion, not a claim about your brand and not a domain we own or operate.
  • Abusive or knowingly false requests (e.g. attempting to remove a competitor's generic vocabulary) may be refused and the requester barred from future requests.
