Quick Domain Lookup
DNS, the registry (RDAP) and WHOIS, shown separately — up to 3 domains at once.
How it works
You get all three answers separately, because they do not always
agree, and when they disagree that is usually the interesting part.
DNS and the registry are asked when you press the button; WHOIS shows the most recent answer we already have (sign in for a fresh one).
Results are not saved in our database — the only thing we keep is an
hourly rate-limit count (a hashed IP address, no domain names). The
Recent lookups list below lives in your browser's local storage.
Need past answers, raw responses and timestamps? See the Advanced Availability Report.
Up to 3 domains at once — separate them with
commas or put one per line. Paste a full URL if it is easier —
https://example.com/page works.
One lookup every 7 seconds — each one is a real call to
a registry, and bursts are what get an IP blocked.
DNS and registry (RDAP) checks are free and unlimited-ish.
Live WHOIS needs a free account — WHOIS runs over a raw
port-43 connection and registries rate-limit us by IP, so we cannot make
those calls for anonymous visitors without risking the lookups everyone
else depends on. Signed out, you still get any WHOIS answer we already
have cached.
